Ramada Inn & Conference Center

State College, PA 16801

Special Invitation from the Diocesan Standing Committee

Clergy and Lay Delegates and friends are invited to attend an open mike sharing and conversation around the Diocesan Effectiveness Review (DER, formerly known as the Mutual Ministry Review) on Friday evening before Convention from 6-7 p.m. Members of the Standing Committee and DER committee will be able to share findings gathered over the last nine months and solicit additional observations from those who attend the session. We hope to contribute to the picture/work of art/snapshot of our life together as a Diocese through this continuing process. You do not have to be registered for convention to attend this session.

Convention Live Streaming and Social Media

Convention 2012 will be live streamed again this year!  Join us for the business session, Saturday, June 9, at 9 a.m.  Visit the Diocesan homepage and click the live streaming link.  You are also welcome to tweet your impressions of convention using the hashtag #diocesecpa2012 or comment on the Diocesan Facebook page.

New Coordinator, Episcopal Relief and Development

Wilma F. Johnson, 46-year member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wellsboro, was recently appointed Coordinator of Episcopal Relief and Development (ER-D) for the Diocese by Bishop Baxter. In this ERD role, she will seek to establish parish contact persons for ER-D (the former Presiding Bishop’s Fund for World Relief) and to promote it throughout our Diocese, distribute educational materials and offer opportunities to help those in crisis of natural disasters.

Look for Wilma and the ER-D Display of informative materials, stories, and appeals at Diocesan Convention, as we renew support for this important national church ministry. You can also contact Wilma via email or at 570-724-2811.

Submit Your Ministry Pictures for the Diocesan Website!

Do you have fabulous pictures of your laity engaged in mission and ministry that you would be willing to share with the Diocesan website?  If you have a few pictures (electronic only, please, preferably horizontal and at least 450px wide), submit them to Linda Arguedas.  A selection will appear on the front page of the website this summer.

Remember in Your Prayers

Please keep the Rev. Richard Cohoon in your daily prayers. He will be having a heart cath in the next week, with the expectation of open heart surgery to follow.

The complete diocesan prayer list is available on the website.
